For audio remixing, use the program Audacity. It is open source software. When using Audacity, always normalize the sound files because it will remove noise.
Another audio remixing program is Garage Band. This is proprietary software and less powerful than Audacity, but it has a nice user interface.

With video remixing, there is a times transition of the video to the beat of the music; the movie will slow down or speed up to match certain movements that are timed to the music. One video remixing software is Muvee AutoProducer. OS and Free Software is severely lacking in the video remixing realm.
