Introduce yourself to the chapters email list
chapters@freeculture.org is a discussion list for chapter leaders. Other chapter leaders will be able to help you on your way - send an introductory email saying who you are.
Since everyone here is at the core of the Students for Free Culture movement, you can feel absolutely free to discuss your issues with your chapter. This list exists for you; use it!

Pay attention to the Discuss and Announce lists
"FC-Discuss" is a general discussion list, holding alumni of Students for Free Culture as well as chapter leaders, chapter members, and non-students discuss Free Culture issues. The SFC organization is the first priority of this list, but there are also interested non-students hanging around here.
"Announce" is what it sounds like: A list with announcements. This is extremely low-volume, maybe one post per year! We generally use the blog for announcements.
As a chapter leader, we expect you to be on both.

Subscribe to the Planets
Students for Free Culture runs two blog aggregators: Planet Free Culture Chapters lets you read all the chapters' blogs at once, and Planet Free Culture has posts from any SFC affiliates who want to be republished there.

Join the Planet
We will take care that your chapter's website shows up in the Chapters planet. If you want your personal weblog to be syndicated in "Planet Free Culture," file an issue and the web team will happily handle it.

Use your feed reader
In your feed reader (don't know what that is? read our basic technology guide), subscribe to the feeds for "Planet Free Culture".
Communicate: It can't make things worse.
Just by starting your chapter, you've contributed to the movement. Don't stress out; just focus on doing what you can to inform your peers and work on activism while you are a part of your group.
Stay cool. Ask for help from your peers. Together we make a difference; there's no need to suffer alone.
And remember to have fun!
Global blog
If something exciting happens, share it with the world on the global Students for Free Culture organization blog! It could be something positive, such as your school promoting open access, or something negative, such as restrictive network access rules.
